The neo82GC, a prototype of an 82,000-cbm Moss-type LNG/multi-gas carrier, is part of its neo series of eco-friendly vessels.
The neo series, to date restricted to just bulkers, was developed in 2010 to meet tougher environmental regulations.
MES is looking to cash in on a demand growth for medium size gas carriers transporting cargoes from regional trading hubs such as Singapore.
Demand is also likely to grow for such carriers transporting ethane and ethylene, which are now mostly transported in small vessels, it added.
MES said it will receive further collaborative support from Moss Maritime as it looks to further refine its multi gas carrier design.
