The Marcellus Shale Coalition is rolling out a new advertising campaign designed to change some minds and set some facts straight regarding Pennsylvania’s shale gas industry.
The umbrella campaign, put together by Harrisburg-based advertising and public relations firm Pavone, will touch on several themes, including the industry’s job creation and the impact fee. Dubbed “Rock Solid for Pennsylvania,” the campaign will play out on social media, radio and television and in print.
It employs the tagline “Fracking’s a good word.”
The campaign comes in advance of a gubernatorial election in which energy will figure prominently. A part of the debate is whether the state should enact a severance tax, as Democratic challenger Tom Wolf has proposed.
