Lithuanian PM to discuss shale gas exploration with Chevron | GlobalPost

VILNIUS, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) — Algirdas Butkevicius, Prime Minister of Lithuania, revealed his plans to speak with representatives of U.S. energy company Chevron on shale gas exploration and production on Thursday.

In an interview with radio station Ziniu Radijas, Butkevicius said he plans to visit the United States in October and meet with Chevron’s officials. He plans to inform the company on changing regulatory environment of shale gas production in Lithuania.

Chevron withdrew from shale gas production contest last October after Lithuania changed the regulatory and taxation environment of shale gas production.
