Fracking debate arranged for North Lincolnshire | Scunthorpe Telegraph

The Northern Lincolnshire Campaign to Protect Rural England says a debate about fracking is needed in this area and points out that a ‘talk about’ event will be held in the autumn.

Local CPRE chairman David Rose says: “We were very disappointed that our July conference on fracking had to be postponed but we are determined to give members of the public an opportunity to learn more about the issues associated with the use of fracking in oil and gas exploration.

“UKOOG, the representative body for the UK onshore oil and gas industry are promoting Let’s Talk About Shale, which is an engagement programme designed to encourage people to ask questions about shale gas, and the debate is to be held at the Ropewalk, Barton, on Saturday, November 8, between 1.30pm and 4pm.

“It is important that all views are listened to on this controversial issue and we hope that people in Northern Lincolnshire will take this opportunity to find out more about this important source of energy.
