Pazardzhik. A protest against the shale gas studies and extraction in Bulgaria will be staged in the Bulgarian town of Pazardzhik on Thursday, Radio FOCUS reported.
This will be the second protest against the shale gas in the town. It will take place at the central square and is scheduled to start at 6 p.m., Atanas Georgiev, one of the organisers of the protest, announced.
“There will not be a rally but only a protest meeting. We will hand out brochures. This is not a real protest, as our goal is to inform the people about what is happening with the plans for studies and extraction of coal and shale gas and the consequences of such activities,” Georgiev remarked.
